Insiders told ESAT that the Oromo People’s Organization ( OPDO), one of the parties that formed the ruling party EPRDF is engulfed with rampant corruption. ”The party seems to break away into threefactions” says one of the ex - officials in OPDO who wanted to remain anonymous for his safety
“ one group of people have amassed millions of dollars, and established a strong network of corruption, the other group assumes that it is fighting for a just cause and is relatively free from corruption, but the third group is bewildered with what is going on inside the party.”
The first and the second group are in a dogfight which threatens the very survival of the organization according to the source. The official added that many members of the party have quitted membership in recent days.
The OPDO officials are tasked to solve the internal problem of the party before the beginning of theannual conference of the EPRDF at the end of this month.
